Milwaukee, WI — The Frank Juarez Gallery is pleased to announce that artist, Ryan Woolgar, has been selected as the 2018 artist-in-residence. Woolgar will be creating a new body of work based on a series of digital sketches he has been working on this past year. His residency is October 27 - December 8, 2018.

The Frank Juarez Gallery Artist-in-Residency Program was created to provide an environment designed to support the artist's creative development and creative output. This exhibition space is transformed into a working studio providing the artist access to this space, resources, and professional development. At the end of the 7-week residency the artist will have a closing reception. Please mark your calendar for Saturday, December 1 from 5-8pm.

Woolgar will be at the gallery on Saturdays from November 3 through December 8, from 11 am - 4pm. The Frank Juarez Gallery is located at 207 E. Buffalo Street, #600, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53202 (inside Material Studios & Gallery in the Third Ward).

Woolgar writes, “The act of writing creates marks on a surface. I compose these marks to highlight their gestural beauty rather than focus on the meaning of words. These images capture the inaudible echo that is our thoughts; the running script behind one’s eyes”.
